I am not sure how to enter BIOS for this model. Even when I remove the CDRW/DVD rom from the drive, this information in the setup menu is not changed. I can not find any other information pertaining to drives in the set up. I can not tell if the BIOS is picking it up, because the only info I can find in the setup menu for any of the drives (hard or otherwise) is this for example: It will not boot from the CDRW/DVD Rom drive. I installed the drive, and the power light comes on.when I put a cd in the drive, I can hear it reading the CD, but the Laptop will not pick it up. I ordered a Dell P/N 8W007-A01 CDRW/DVD Combo drive. I had a friend bring me a Dell Latitude D600 notebook that was missing a CD/DVD drive. Usually the computer just automatically picks them up. I have installed/unistalled CD/DVD drives many times.
